As both a journalist and photographer, I focus on technology, transportation, science, nature, travel, and other subjects for a wide range of outlets, including Wired, The Drive, Gear Patrol, Men's Health, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Forbes. I’m presently the senior content manager and photographer for Joby Aviation, in Santa Cruz, California.

During my 30-plus years in the business, I've been shot by the U.S. Air Force "Pain Beam," cracked 200 mph in a Bugatti, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, edited sex columns, driven a Formula One race car, profiled celebrities, and pushed my limits on race tracks around the world, among other adventures. I was also the first to drive an electric car from New York to Los Angeles in a continuous drive. As an avid eclipse-chaser and science reporter, I founded the world’s largest solar eclipse discussion forum on Facebook and was named a NASA Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the 2017 U.S. total solar eclipse.

My photography has appeared at Wired.com, Gear Patrol (digital and print), The Drive, the Associated Press, Rhapsody Magazine, and The New York Times. It has also been featured in publications, collaborations, and commercial work with brands that include Audi, Porsche, Acura, Nikon, Pentax, and Airstream.
